Privacy Policy
Last updated July 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CallHungry (“CallHungry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with our AI phone receptionist service (the “Service”). It applies to business owners who use CallHungry (“you”) and to people who call a business using the Service (“callers”).
Our two roles
For information about your own account and business, we act as a controller. For call recordings, transcripts, and order details created when your customers call your business, we act as a processor on your behalf — you decide how that information is used, and you are responsible for the notices and consents your business owes its callers. See our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and business details (business name, address, hours, phone number).
- Menu and business content — the menu, pricing, and instructions you provide for the AI to use.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; we retain limited billing identifiers, plan, and subscription status.
- Call information— audio recordings, transcripts, call summaries, call duration and cost, the caller's phone number, and the order details captured during a call (such as items, name, pickup/delivery, and address a caller provides).
- Usage and technical data — logs, device/browser information, and cookies needed to run the Service.
How we use information
- provide, operate, and support the Service, including answering calls and taking orders;
- display and store orders for your staff, and generate reporting and call summaries;
- process subscriptions, included minutes, and metered overage billing;
- secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
- communicate with you about your account and the Service;
- measure and improve our marketing and advertising on our public website.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use call recordings or transcripts to train third-party models for purposes unrelated to providing your Service.
Call recording
The Service records and transcribes calls to your business number so it can take orders and provide summaries and reporting. A spoken recording notice is played at the start of each call. Because recording laws vary by location, you are responsible for ensuring recording and any additional disclosures comply with the laws that apply to you and your callers.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing;
- Our telephony and AI/voice providers — to place/answer calls and provide speech-to-text, language-model, and text-to-speech processing;
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run the application and store data.
- Google — website analytics and advertising measurement, on our public marketing website only.
- Email provider — to send account and service emails and to receive messages you send to us.
We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of CallHungry, our users, and the public. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred subject to this Policy.
Cookies and analytics
Inside the logged-in application, we use only essential cookies required for sign-in and to keep you logged in. On our public marketing website (such as our homepage and blog), we also use first-party analytics to understand how visitors use our pages, and Google Analytics and Google Adsto measure the performance of our advertising — for example, to attribute a sign-up to an ad someone clicked. These services may set cookies. You can opt out of Google's advertising cookies through your browser settings, Google's Ads Settings, and Google Analytics' opt-out tools.
Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Call recordings and transcripts are retained to provide order history and reporting; you may request deletion of specific records as described below. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us at the address below; we will respond as required by applicable law. Callers who wish to exercise rights over call data should contact the business they called, which controls that data; we will assist that business as its processor.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
International users
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date and, where appropriate, additional notice.
